Despite rumors circulating that she may make a comeback following a meeting with TVB executive Virginia Lok, Gigi Lai has confirmed that she will not be following fellow former TVB actresses Tavia Yeung and Charmaine Sheh on the comeback trail.
Sheh is making a return to TVB in two dramas, ‘The Queen of News’ along with “The Heir to the Throne’, while Yeung is currently filming ‘Black Moonlight’.
Gigi, 52, revealed that she has “never thought about acting again”, according to 8days.
“I think I would leave these things up to fate. My schedule is already packed with work and taking care of my children. I’ll only think about [going back to acting] at a later time,” she said, per the report.
Gigi, who is the CEO of a highly successful beauty company, was asked is she would consider a return if TVB would produce a drama called “Queen of Beauty”.
“I think I really need to look at the script and my schedule” she said while laughing.
“We were all very happy when we worked together. Right now, I’m really too busy with work and my personal life. I understand that when I start filming, I will need to put in a lot of time and effort into the role. If I were to focus entirely on that, I’m worried I would end up neglecting my work and family,” she added.
