This interesting and entertaining theater performance from East Java, presented a traditional theater art entitled “Bantengan Geger” and won a charter, trophy and coaching money from the President Director of TMII for several categories: Best story and screenwriter, Best Director, Best Male Actor and Best Presenter.
The Margabuana Bull and the Mahesa Bull son are two very famous groups of bulls, each has its own privileges, but these two bull owners turn out to be hostile to each other, the hostility that began because of fighting over the punden and the hostility adversely affected their children, children who were supposed to be happy in their world, influenced to hate each other, synopsis.
The performance of Bantengan Geger at the 2017 Tradition Theatre Parade that night, amazed the audience with humorous scenes typical of East Java, Saturday (05/20/2017).
One viewer from East Java commented, when asked kabanews.com, about the bull story, “Usually in Java, if there are circumcision or marriage events, nyewa bulls like that, if here maybe dangdutan ya and in this story they fight because of bulls, then the teacher has an idea, what if the two bulls are put together so as not to fight again, finally the teacher arranged for one of the children to pretend to be possessed, and told them (his parents/bulls) to make up,” explained Riska.
“The message in this story actually wants to say, nowadays there are many trivial things that are often fussed about”, said Riska again.
The social message conveyed in Bantengan Geger is interspersed with humors that make the audience, as the Best Presenter, the performance of Bantengan Geger from East Java amazed the audience.
