Brigadier General TNI (Mar) Bambang Suswantoro officially served as Commander of the Presidential Security Force (Danpaspampres) to replace Maj. Gen. TNI Andika Perkasa who served as Pangdam XII / Tanjungpura.
The handover of the position led by TNI Commander General Gatot Nurmantyo took place at the Paspampres Command Headquarters, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (25/5).
While previously, Bambang Suwantono served as Wadanpaspampres.
In his remarks, the TNI Commander hoped that the new Danpaspampres could immediately make adjustments so that there would not be a long-standing vacancy in leadership roles.
“I as a person and the commander of the TNI would like to thank you for the dedication of Major General of the TNI Andika Perkasa so far, so that he was promoted to the commander of Tanjungpura,” Gatot said.
He also hopes that the performance of the Paspampres unit will continue to be improved in protecting the head of state, therefore the new officials will immediately adapt themselves to the new environment so that there is no transition and staganization for too long.
Intelligence instincts and emergency response to various potential threats to Jokowi, Gatot said, must be possessed by Bambang. According to him, the development of the professionalism and ability of Paspampres soldiers must also be Bambang’s focus.
Who is Bambang Suswantono?
Major General TNI (Mar) Bambang Suswantono, S.H., M.H., M.Tr. (Han) is a high-ranking officer of the Indonesian Navy. He is a 1987 Naval Academy alumni officer. Previously, he served in Paspampres as Danden Matan and Danden Pamsus Group A Paspampres.
He is now the Commander of the Presidential Security Force. Based on the Decree of the TNI Commander number Kep / 404 / V / 2016 dated May 20, 2016.
Previously, he served as Deputy Commander of the Presidential Security Force replacing Brigadier General TNI (Mar) Guntur Irianto Ciptolelono who was mutated to become Governor of AAL.
